Welcome to Sail Imagine!
We are the Adams Family - Marc, Jane, Caroline, Grant, and Noah.
After years of dreaming, planning, and a little apprehension, in October of 2007 we made the decision to buy
a new boat, quit our jobs, move out of our home in Chicago and 'Sail to See the World'. After 3 1/2 years
and nearly 40,000 miles later, we completed our adventure circumnavigating the globe. We are now the land
crew Imagine, having moved back into our home in Chicago in August 2012. We've been adding information & photos to
the website and hope you find the information useful and entertaining and perhaps even inspiring.
We hope
that you enjoy our story and feel free to contact us if you have any questions - we love to talk about cruising!

Closing the loop in Barbuda - December 2011 |
What's New?
After a little more than 2,900 miles & 19 days at sea since leaving the Canary
Islands, we dropped anchor at the beautiful 11 mile pink sand beach on the island of Barbuda in the Caribbean. On Saturday, 10 December 2011, after
3 years and 35,650 miles, Imagine & her crew closed the loop on our Circumnavigation by crossing our line here in Barbuda.
We were all thrilled to arrive here safely and after the Champagne (and Shirley
Temples), spent the next 4 days relaxing, playing on the beach & reminiscing about our journey so far.
We set out on our adventure to ‘sail to see the world’ but always said
that if possible, we’d like to ‘sail around it’. We feel blessed that we were able to accomplish
this dream.
Our Circumnavigation by the numbers….. v Our journey lasted
3 years, 9 months, 16 days v 38,650 miles sailed v 236 nights at sea on passages v 42 countries visited v Our Longest Passage: 3,000 miles (Galapagos to Marquesas) v Only 62 Nights off of Imagine
